5/5/2026``Mystique was EXCELLENT. Our non negotiable for our wedding was to hire a band and we are so lucky to have found Mystique. I can’t even put into words how much fun they were and the energy they brought. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how engaged they were with the guests and dancing on the dance floor, the talent throughout the entire band, and the energy overall. Our coordinator recommended them early on in our search and said “my feet always hurt from dancing so much because they bring the energy” and was spot on. 7/14/25BOOK THEM! I could not be happier with my experience working with Peter (the band leader) and Mystique. We got married at the Bohlin in Newport, RI, and it was a complete destination wedding for us. That said, planning a wedding from afar was a bit challenging. We knew nothing about the local vendors and planned strictly off online reviews. We actually booked Mystique somewhat blindly (we had never seen them perform before), and they delivered! My one request was no “line dance” songs like the Cupid shuffle, which Peter was happy to avoid. Instead, they played all the classic high energy songs that everyone at the wedding knew. Our friends (late 20s to early 30s), parents, and even grandparents were on the dance floor. We had 105 guests. Grandma got out of her wheelchair at one point to start dancing! The 2 lead singers engaged with the audience and walked around the entire night. At one point, he even did the splits on the dance floor which everyone went crazy over! The pictures our photographer took of us dancing are amazing. Our family and friends (who can be critical of band performances) are still talking about how amazing Mystique was. Also, since we were planning from afar, I did a LOT of research into local bands and spoke with many of their band leaders when trying to figure out who to book. I found Peter’s pricing to be the most reasonable in the area. He’s also very experienced with weddings, so working on the wedding timeline with him was a breeze. After booking him (I’d say 10-11 months before the wedding), he reached out with a pre-wedding questionnaire 2 months before the wedding, and reviewed everything with us line by line over the phone a few weeks before the wedding. We used them for our wedding ceremony (Peter played pre-recorded tracks and gave our officiant a microphone), cocktail hour (solo piano), and reception (7 piece band). We opted for no stage, which was nice since it allowed the band to easily interact with the guests.

7/4/25Mystique Band recently performed at our annual fundraiser for the fourth year in a row—and once again, they brought the house down! They performed two high-energy sets that had our 900 guests dancing all night. We’ve received so many compliments from attendees about how much fun they had thanks to the band’s incredible performance. 7/2/2025Hiring our wedding band was the single most important vendor decision we made, as the band truly sets the tone and energy for the entire reception. My now husband and I have been to over 20 weddings together, so we knew exactly what makes a dance floor unforgettable. Band Mystique didn’t just deliver—they exceeded every single expectation and brought to life the wedding I had been praying for throughout 16 months of planning. From the first dance to the final song, Band Mystique was absolutely electric! They performed our choreographed first dance song live, and that moment alone was worth everything. The way the horn section came alive with our big dip moment—UGH!! We will truly never forget that feeling. Their live dinner set brought such a classy, elevated feel to the evening, better than any playlist you could put together. When they performed At Last as a slow dance, the band and horns stole the show. Their entire set list was perfectly tailored to our vibe, with unexpected songs sprinkled in that kept the crowd hyped and the dance floor full all night long. Not once was it empty. Now, Ricky and Whitney. There are not enough words to do them justice. Ricky is a showman like no other—I am a Ricky Diamonds groupie for life!! His voice, his energy, his booty shaking! He was all over the dance floor and had every single guest on their feet. And Whitney, I don’t think there’s a single song she can’t sing. She is Aretha Franklin level star power. Together, their chemistry and talent lit up the room in a way we’ll never forget. Peter, the band manager, was the ultimate professional—calm, organized, and completely on top of everything. From arrival to departure, we didn’t have to lift a finger or answer a single logistical question. That kind of seamless execution is priceless for any couple on their wedding day. Hiring Band Mystique will be the best vendor decision you make. Do not stress yourself out researching other bands and just hire this one, period. Our night was everything we dreamed of and more—in large part to this extraordinary group of musicians and performers. I will never stop singing their praises and we are forever grateful!

In addition to booking them for several of my clients' weddings, I recently had the wonderful opportunity to book them for my parents 40th Vow Renewal. Every single time guests from all walks of life rave to me about them! They keep everyone on the dance floor all night and their energy is infectious. Because they are a fixed line up, the band members are the same every time - meaning they crush harmonies and choreo like none other. They are both incredibly well-rehearsed and an absolute explosion of energy that feed off of the crowd! Peter, the manager and drummer, is delightful to plan with and cares deeply about the outcome of my clients' weddings every time. If you're considering hiring them for your event DO IT. 4/12/2025If you are thinking about booking Mystique for your wedding, DO IT NOW! My husband and I are so so glad we booked them instead of having a DJ. They were the highlight of our entire wedding. Singers Whitney and Rickey were so high energy and captured everyone’s attention. They even came onto the dance floor with their mics and did some amazing dance moves while singing! Their voices are incredible! It was like being at a live concert in the front row. We had several guests ask for their business card. We personally love oldies, which we requested and they played a lot of, but they know newer songs too. When I was messaging vendors, it felt like I didn’t know who to trust, and planning a wedding is so stressful! But Peter is so incredibly trustworthy, dependable, all the good things. He addressed every little detail before the wedding including set list, microphones for our vows, timing of songs, etc. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and was so patient. It’s no surprise that they have been in this business as long as they have. Thank you, Peter and Mystique, for being the best part of our wedding and helping to make it the best day of our lives.

10/19/2024Our daughter got married this past weekend at the Seaport Hotel and our guests cannot stop talking about the band. Mystique played every song imaginable - we never stopped dancing. The musicians are all top notch and the vocalists not only sounded like original artists but interacted with all of us on the dance floor getting everyone going. Their price was very reasonable compared to other live bands, especially given their long-standing reputation as one of Boston's best bands. Peter was so pleasant to work with, checking in with us and making sure they played all the music requested. 10/1/2024If you have the chance to hire Mystique as your wedding band, do it! This band is fantastic and they made our son and daughter-in-law's wedding a blast. From the minute they started the night, the dance floor was packed. People were dancing, singing and having the absolute best time. This is a high energy band with incredible talent. The band members are so good at what they do. The vocalists, Whitney and Rickey, are wonderful musicians and incredible performers. They were so fun and really friendly. The drummer, guitarists, keyboardist, sax and trumpet players all created an unforgettable wedding. Our guests were blown away by the fun this band created, as were we! So many guests have reached out to us for Mystique's contact info. We want to have another party just so we can hire Mystique again! Peter, the band manager, was professional and available to guide us. He had great suggestions and ultimately said to us, let me do my thing and you will have a great wedding. One of our friends whose son is getting married in a month is even seriously considering ditching their band to book this one instead, if that gives any insight into how good these guys were! Peter was great to work with, very available and very patient when we struggled to figure out what to do for our ceremony music. 8/25/2024Where do we even begin? Mystique provided the absolute BEST wedding entertainment experience, beyond what we ever imagined! Peter the bandleader is very accessible and communicates effectively ahead of the wedding day, with tons of helpful tips about how to maximize the couple's and guests' experience day-of. And the TALENT!!! Whitney and Rickey are out on the dance floor with wireless mics dancing with the crowd, and their vocals and energy are absolutely above and beyond. We opted to add a brass section in and this elevated the entire experience! We wish that we could throw another party just to hire Mystique again. We would absolutely recommend the band to anyone looking to have the party of a lifetime!

We have worked with Mystique for the past 3 years at the annual fundraising gala for Bradley Hospital. After an evening of raising important funds for our patients and families, event guests are ready to have a good time, sing and dance. Mystique always delivers.
